Mafia is a local, peer-to-peer party game. It is built so that your data never leaves the phones in the room.
What we collect
Nothing. We do not operate any servers, accounts, analytics, advertising, or tracking. We do not collect, transmit, sell, or share any personal information.
Data that stays on your device
- Your display name, chosen avatar, and game preferences.
- Local play stats, XP, awards, and unlocked cosmetics.
- Saved host role-setup presets.
All of this is stored only in the app's local storage on your own device. Deleting the app removes it. It is never uploaded anywhere.
Local network use
During a game, one phone acts as the host and other phones connect to it directly over your local Wi-Fi network or a personal hotspot. Gameplay messages (such as your name, chosen role actions, and votes) are sent only between the phones in that game, over the local network. Nothing is routed through the internet or any external server.
Permissions we request and why
- Local network (iOS) / Wi-Fi + nearby-devices (Android): to host and join games between phones on the same Wi-Fi or hotspot.
- Camera: used only to scan a room's QR code when joining a game. No photos or video are recorded, stored, or transmitted.
Children's privacy
Because the app collects no personal data and has no online services, it does not knowingly gather information from anyone, including children.
Changes
If this policy ever changes, the updated version will ship with a new app release and the date above will be updated.
