Support & FAQ

Everything you need to get a game running smoothly.

How many players do I need?

You can start a game with as few as 3 players and play with up to 20. A balance helper in the host setup suggests a fair mix of roles for your group size.

Do we need an internet connection?

No. Everyone just needs to be on the same Wi-Fi network, or connected to one player's personal hotspot. All gameplay happens directly between the phones in the room, with no internet required.

How do players join a game?

The host starts a room and shows a QR code and a short room code. Other players open the app, tap Join, and either scan the QR code or type the room code. The host approves each request, and players appear in the lobby.

A player can't see or join the room. What do I check?

A phone dropped off Wi-Fi mid-game. Is the game over?

No. The app handles reconnects, so a phone that briefly loses connection can rejoin its exact seat and continue where it left off.

Why does the app ask for camera and local network access?

The camera is used only to scan a room's QR code, and local network access is needed so phones can find and talk to each other on your Wi-Fi. See the privacy policy for full details. Nothing is uploaded or tracked.

Is my role kept secret?

Yes. The host device acts as the game's authority and never broadcasts secret information. Your role and night actions stay on your own device, with per-player state filtering to prevent cheating.
